The overnight stay in the hospital did see an increase in the fluid but not high enough as in the normal range, so we had a second dose of cervidale. I was having regular contraction 3-1-1, and the labor was progressing. However, the baby's heart rate kept dropping with contraction, suggesting that she may not tolerate the intensity of the labor. We opted for a C-section, which went really fast. All the prep were done within half an hour after our decision. Another half hour, at 1:49 pm, little Lina Madison was born. When the doctors took her out of the womb, she has umbilical cords wrapped around her neck five times. It is fortunate that we went for the C-section. Her apgar score was 8, weighed 5 lb 5 oz, lengthed 18 3/4 inches. A healthy baby!
Prior to our decision, our doula Jodi came to join us to give us support. She has been really helpful, staying with us the whole time, helping with suggestions and photo taking. When Scott went with baby Lina to the nursery for checkup, Jodi stayed with me and gave me lots of comfort. She later went with us to our recovery room till we settled in.
